According to the investigation conducted by the Glenview police department, Kim has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Causing Death. He faces additional charges of Reckless Homicide, Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Causing Great Bodily Harm, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Driving without Lights, Improper Lane Usage, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

The collision occurred in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue on Sunday evening, sometime after 11 o’clock. Authorities reported that Niketic was operating a Mercedes when it was struck by a Mustang that was traveling at an excessive pace.

The force of the collision caused Niketic’s vehicle to be virtually ripped in half, and its trunk was completely pulled out. The rear end of the vehicle ended up in the yard of a neighbor. Niketic was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

Two of the people who were riding in the autos sustained life-threatening injuries. The incident was described as sounding like an explosion by residents of the surrounding calm area.

Niketic was a senior at Glenbrook South High School and was only a few days away from the prom and a few weeks away from graduating. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, with friends and family remembering him as a bright and talented young man with a promising future.

Kim is set to appear for a detention hearing on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not revealed any new information regarding the health of the passengers who were hurt.

The Glenview police department is urging anyone with information about the accident to come forward. They are also reminding drivers of the importance of safe driving practices, particularly in light of this tragic incident.

The community is coming together to support the Niketic family during this difficult time. A memorial service was held on Thursday to honor Niketic’s memory and celebrate his life.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless and impaired driving. The authorities are working to ensure that justice is served, and the community is rallying around the Niketic family to support them through this difficult time.
