It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Larry Dahl, a beloved local farmer from Ettrick, Wisconsin. Kyle, aged 36, died on May 15, 2024, as a result of injuries sustained in a devastating accident. His untimely death has left an indelible mark on the community and shattered the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Kyle was born in La Crosse, WI, to Doris and Larry Dahl, who raised him in Ettrick, where he grew up surrounded by the values of hard work, dedication, and community. From a young age, Kyle was deeply connected to the land and the farming lifestyle, a passion that would define his life’s work and bring joy to his days.

In 2016, Kyle married his closest friend and the love of his life, Brittany Woestman. Together, they built a beautiful life on their farm, raising their two cherished children, Bradley and Madison. Their family was also completed by their loyal hound dog and farming partner, Freddie, who was always by Kyle’s side in the fields.

Kyle was not just a farmer; he was a man of many talents and interests. He had a profound love for hunting and fishing, often spending his free time exploring the great outdoors. He was an accomplished welder, a skill that complemented his farming work and benefited many of his neighbors and friends. Kyle was also an avid sports fan, enjoying the games of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers, sharing the excitement of every match with his family and friends.

Beyond his hobbies and work, Kyle’s greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. He was known for his warmth, kindness, and the genuine interest he took in getting to know people. Growing up in Ettrick, Kyle became a familiar and friendly face in the G-E-T area. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, making everyone feel valued and heard. Whether he was engaging in a deep conversation or sharing a laugh, Kyle’s presence was always uplifting.

Kyle’s love for farming was evident in everything he did. He took great pride in his work, from planting crops to harvesting, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to other local farmers. His dedication to his farm and his community was unparalleled. Even when he traveled and experienced different parts of the country, his heart always belonged to his family and the farm. He delighted in introducing his children to the wonders of farm life, taking them on tractor rides, and teaching them the importance of hard work and love for the land.

Kyle is survived by his loving wife, Brittany, and their two children, Bradley and Madison, who will carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Doris and Larry Dahl, his sister Cassie Forster and her husband Nat, niece Morgan, and nephew Chase. His extended family includes his mother and father-in-law, Jeanne and Doug Woestman, brother-in-law, Blake Woestman and his wife Kayla, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all cherished him deeply.

Kyle was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raud Wilber and Laurell Dahl, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into eternal peace.

The community of Ettrick and all who knew Kyle are mourning the loss of a remarkable man whose life was a testament to kindness, hard work, and dedication. His spirit will live on in the fields he worked, the hearts he touched, and the memories shared by his family and friends. The Dahl family and the Ettrick community will forever remember Kyle’s infectious smile, his generous heart, and his unwavering love for his family and the farm.

A visitation to honor Kyle’s memory will be held on Saturday at Williams Funeral Home from 11 to 1 p.m., followed by a ceremony in the chapel at 1 p.m. The burial will take place at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Friends, family, and community members are invited to gather and pay their respects to a man who left an unforgettable mark on their lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to support local farming initiatives, a cause that was close to Kyle’s heart and one that will continue his legacy of helping others in the farming community.

Kyle Larry Dahl’s life was a shining example of love, dedication, and community spirit. Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Kyle. Your memory will forever be a source of strength and comfort to all who loved you.
