Jewell Anslee Efird, a bright and loving four-year-old from Norwood, has tragically passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the afternoon. Her family has not disclosed the cause of her sudden death, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Born on July 26, 2019, to Daniel and Melissa Gardin Efird of Cabarrus County, Jewell was a shining light in the lives of everyone she met. She was a graduate of Wee Care in 2024 and was known for her empathy and kindness towards others. She had a remarkable ability to sense when someone was sad or pained and would always try to brighten their day.

Jewell was a peace-loving child who brought joy and excitement to every space she entered. Her infectious smile and laughter could light up a room, and her presence will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Her family has announced that her funeral services will take place at Silver Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Dusty Laney and Rev. Mark Little will preside, and burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will host friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. before the church service.

Jewell is survived by her sister, Hagan Efird, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rickey and Sonya Efird, her maternal grandparents, Wade and Agnes Gardin, and her great-grandparents, Edward and Alma Jewell Hudson, and Wayne Efird.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Stanly County Sheriff’s office, Aquadale VFD, Stanly EMS, Stanly 911, and Center Rural Fire & Rescue for their assistance and support during this difficult time.

Jewell’s sudden passing has left a huge void in the lives of her family and community, but her memory will continue to inspire and motivate others to spread love, kindness, and compassion.
