Jewell Anslee Efird Obituary, Death: Tragic Accident Claims the Life of 4-Year-Old Jewell Efird of Norwood, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Joy and Brightening Every Space She Entered.

Jewell Anslee Efird, a vibrant and energetic 4-year-old from Norwood, was tragically taken from this world on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the afternoon. Her sudden passing has left a gaping hole in the lives of her loved ones and the community that cherished her. Jewell’s family and friends will gather at Silver Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate her life and bid their final farewell.

Pastor Dusty Laney and Rev. Mark Little will preside over the funeral service, which will be followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. before the church service, offering an opportunity for those who knew and loved Jewell to share their condolences and memories.

Born on July 26, 2019, to Daniel and Melissa Gardin Efird of Cabarrus County, Jewell was a shining light in the lives of everyone she touched. She was a Wee Care graduate from 2024 and brought excitement and joy to every space she entered. Her infectious smile and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jewell is survived by her parents, Daniel and Melissa; her sister, Cheyenne Efird; her grandparents, David and Eva Gardin; her great-grandparents, Viola Lovejoy and Alma Broadway; her grandparents, Tony and Carmia Poplin, Charles and Sandra Tucker, Jimmy and Donna Weatherholt; her aunts and uncles, Danyelle and Chris Wing, Dusty and Holly Efird, Jamie and Jennifer Vanhoy, Tyler Gardin; and her cousins, TJ Blalock (Jessica), Dylan Blalock, Denver Blalock (Kendall), Justin Vanhoy, Destiny Blackwelder, Austin Blackwelder, and Addison Frick.

Jewell was preceded in death by her sister, Hagan Efird; her paternal grandparents, Rickey and Sonya Efird; her maternal grandparents, Wade and Agnes Gardin; her great-grandparents, Edward and Alma Jewell Hudson; and her uncle, Wayne Efird.

The Stanly County Sheriff’s office, Aquadale VFD, Stanly EMS, Stanly 911, and Center Rural Fire & Rescue are all appreciated for their efforts in helping the family during this difficult time.

Jewell’s life may have been short, but her impact on those around her was immense. Her bright smile and playful nature lit up every room she entered, and her love for life was contagious. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
