Charles Michael “Mike” Boggs, 56, of Norfolk, Virginia, Passed Away on May 25, 2024, After Brave Battle with Illness; Obituary and Death Notice
Charles Michael “Mike” Boggs, a beloved resident of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 56, following a courageous fight against a prolonged illness. Born on March 12, 1968, in Summersville, West Virginia, Mike was a kind and amiable person who never met a stranger.
Mike’s passion was working on cars, and he spent most of his career as a mechanic. He graduated with honors from Richwood High School in 1986 and went on to work at Capital Concrete in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was employed until his passing. In his free time, Mike loved visiting the beach and watching NASCAR races.
Mike was preceded in death by his aunt Gail Peters, uncles Richard “Dick” Biggs and Elmer “JuJu” Boggs, Jr., and grandparents Elmer and Ruth Boggs and Estle and Irene O’Dell. He is survived by his parents, Charlie and Carolyn Boggs, of Craigsville; his son, Eric Boggs, of Roanoke, VA; wife, Torra Jacobs, Norfolk, VA; aunts and uncles, Jim (Rondell) O’Dell, of Nettie, Lowell (Isora) O’Dell of White Sulphur Springs, Hilda Smith, of Nettie; and countless other family and friends.
Mike shared a special bond with his cousins, Johnny (Shannon) O’Dell and Buffy (Robert) Myers, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at O’Dell Groves Cemetery, O’Delltown Road, Nettie, WV, with Pastors Ricky Bragg and Mike Simms officiating.
Mike’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of his loved ones, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. His kind heart, generous spirit, and passion for life will never be forgotten.
As we say goodbye to this dear man, we take comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer in pain and is at peace. We will miss him dearly, but his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us to live our lives to the fullest.
