Chase Yarns Obituary, Death: Clarks Summit, PA – 26-Year-Old Word of Life Bible Institute Alumnus Passes Away

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chase C. Yarns, a 26-year-old native of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Chase’s death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. His smile, laugh, sense of humor, and quick wit will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

Chase Yarns was born in 1998 at CMC in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to parents Amy and Chief Christopher Yarns. He was one of the first set of quadruplets born in northeastern Pennsylvania, a fact that brought great joy and pride to his family. Raised in Clarks Summit, Chase was a loving and caring son, brother, and uncle. His deep faith and love for his church communities were evident throughout his life. He was an active member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church in Scranton, Steamtown Church in Scranton, and Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorne, New Jersey.

Chase’s academic journey was marked by excellence and dedication. He graduated from Abington Heights High School in 2016, where he was an active member of the cross-country and track and field teams. His love for running continued to be a significant part of his life. After high school, Chase attended and graduated from Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, New York, in 2021, achieving high honors with a 4.0 GPA. He later graduated from Clarks Summit University in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where he continued to excel academically.

Chase’s passions extended beyond academics. He had a profound love for the outdoors, often spending his time running, hiking, and traveling. His dedication to running was demonstrated by his participation in the Steamtown Marathon in 2022. Music was another of Chase’s great loves; he taught himself to play the guitar, bringing joy to those around him with his music.

Chase’s commitment to helping others was evident in his involvement with various clubs and organizations. He was a man of deep faith who actively participated in church activities and community service. His love for people and his desire to make a positive impact were central to his life.

Chase is survived by his loving parents, Amy and Christopher Yarns of Clarks Summit, PA; his siblings, Blaise Schultheis (Brittany) of River Vale, NJ; Ross Schultheis (Sabrina Laytos) of Scranton, PA; Tiana Salerno (Eric) of Clawson, MI; Rhys Yarns of Clarks Summit, PA; Trey Yarns (fiancée Dagny Rippon) of Bloomington, IN; “His Person” Paige Porro of Wood-Ridge, NJ; and his nephew, Hudson Schultheis of River Vale, NJ. He is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

The family has announced that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Steamtown Church, 1511 Pittston Ave., Scranton, PA 18505, or Scranton Counseling Center, 329 Cherry St., Scranton, PA 18505. These donations will honor Chase’s memory and continue his legacy of helping others.

A funeral service to celebrate Chase’s life will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, located at 1310 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, PA. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 11 am until the time of the service.

Chase Yarns’ untimely passing is a heartbreaking loss for all who knew him. His life was characterized by love, faith, dedication, and a desire to make the world a better place. As the community comes together to mourn his loss and celebrate his life, they are united in their appreciation for the remarkable young man who brought so much joy and positivity to those around him.

Rest in peace, Chase C. Yarns. Your legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing you. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
