Michael James Boone, a highly respected businessman, accomplished horseman, and devoted family man, tragically passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the age of 59, in a lawn tractor rollover crash in Tyrone Township.
Born on July 1, 1964, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Michael was a beloved son, fiancé, father, brother, and friend to many. He was the President of Lytle’s Transfer and Storage, a family-owned business that has been operating for over 50 years. Michael was a top sales producer for Atlas Van Lines and a highly regarded owner and trainer in the barrel racing scene.
Michael’s passion for horses was matched only by his love for his family. He is survived by his fiancée, Kassie Mowry, his son, Evan Boone, and his brothers Dan Boone, Brian Boone, and John Boone. Michael was a devoted father and fiancé, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.
The accident occurred at 12:36 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, when the lawn tractor Michael was operating overturned an embankment, pinning him underneath. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Michael succumbed to his injuries, and his death was confirmed by Deputy Coroner Terry Dellinger.
