Chase Yarns Obituary and Death: Beloved Clarks Summit Resident Passes Away at 26

Chase C. Yarns, a cherished resident of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away on Monday morning at the young age of 26. Born in 1998 at CMC in Scranton, Chase was one of the first set of quadruplets born in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving parents, Amy and Chief Christopher Yarns, and his siblings Blaise, Ross, Tiana, Rhys, Trey, and “His Person” Paige Porro.

Chase was a kind and compassionate individual who was deeply committed to his faith and his community. He was an enthusiastic member of Steamtown Church in Scranton and Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorne, New Jersey, before becoming a passionate member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church in Scranton as a child. Chase’s love for his church and his desire to serve others was evident in everything he did.

Chase was a man of many passions, and he pursued them with zeal. He was an avid runner, completing the Steamtown Marathon in 2022, and a talented musician, teaching himself to play the guitar. He loved being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. Chase’s quick wit, sense of humor, laugh, and smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Chase’s academic achievements were impressive, graduating from Abington Heights High School in 2016 and completing his studies at Word of Life Bible Institute and Clarks Summit University with high honors (4.0 GPA). He was a member of various groups and clubs that focused on assisting and cooperating with others, demonstrating his love for people and his desire to make a positive impact.

Chase is survived by his parents, siblings, nephew Hudson Schultheis, and numerous cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. His grandparents, Donald and Carol Jenkins, and Marie Russell, passed away before him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chase may be sent to the Scranton Counseling Center or Steamtown Church. A funeral ceremony will be held at Clarks Summit United Methodist Church on Saturday at 1 pm, with friends and family welcome to pay their respects from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral.

Chase’s tragic passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and touch the lives of many. His family and friends take comfort in the words of Romans 8:38-39, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God found in Christ Jesus our Lord.
