James “Keith” Nations Obituary and Death: Beloved Barkers Creek Community Member, Devoted Father, and Loyal Friend Passes Away at 57

James “Keith” Nations, a cherished member of the Barkers Creek Community, passed away on June 3rd, 2024, at the age of 57, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

Born on December 22, 1966, in Sylva, North Carolina, to Fred and Judy Nations, Keith was a loyal and consistent attendee of Rockdale Baptist Church, where he fostered a strong sense of community and faith.

Keith’s passion for logging led him to co-found Nantahala Forest Products with his oldest son, Cody, a venture that brought him immense joy and pride. As a devoted father, Keith cherished every moment spent with his sons, whether it was coaching them through sports, lake fishing, or bear hunting across North Carolina.

Keith’s infectious grin and ability to make others laugh earned him a special place in the hearts of everyone he knew. His unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community will be deeply missed.

Keith is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, June Berry Nations, and their four sons, Dustin (Elsie Buchanan), Cody (Ashley), Tanner (Trenna), and Hunter (Hannah King). His parents, Fred and Judy Nations, preceded him in death.

Keith’s love for his family was unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the laughter he brought to those around him.

The Barkers Creek Cemetery in Whittier, North Carolina, will host services on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM, presided over by Pastors Cale Stancil, Eugene Ridley, and Kevin Brooks.

Keith’s passing leaves a gaping hole in the lives of those who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire and uplift his community.

Keith’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the community for their support and condolences during this difficult time.
