Amy Lynn Self, a shining star and a beloved member of her family and community, has gone to her heavenly home, gaining her wings and leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and endless memories. Amy passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2024, at the age of 47, surrounded by her loved ones, after a brave struggle.

Born on December 31, 1976, in Gainesville, Florida, to Howard C. Mathis and Donna Eichholz Clifton, Amy was a devoted daughter and a faithful member of the Baptist community. She was a kind and compassionate soul, always putting the needs of others before her own, and her love and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met.

Amy was a dedicated and hardworking individual, serving as the Safety and Recruiting Coordinator at E-Transport in Perry for four years. Her professional expertise and her passion for her work were an inspiration to her colleagues, and her absence will be deeply felt.

But Amy’s greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Steven C Self, and a caring and nurturing mother to her children, Dylan, Emma, and Branson. Her family was her rock, and she was always there for them, providing love, support, and guidance.

Amy was also a talented photographer, capturing the beauty of the world around her through her lens. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing, always finding solace and peace in nature.

Amy is survived by her husband, Steven C Self; her children, Dylan Self, Emma Self, and Branson Self; her parents, Howard C Mathis and Donna E. Clifton, as well as her father, Lee Clifton; her siblings, Brian Mathis and Krissy, David Terry and Tara, and Shaun Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will take place at a later date, celebrating Amy’s life and legacy. Her family and friends will gather to remember her love, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Amy may be gone, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her love, her faith, and her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate those who were lucky enough to have known her. Rest in peace, Amy. Your memory will be a blessing to all who knew you.
