His commitment to service was recognized on a broader scale when he was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives, where he was recently elected treasurer. This role allowed him to contribute to the improvement of electric services for many in the region, further underscoring his dedication to the community he loved.

As a long-time member of the Clinton County Fair Board, he dedicated 29 years to enhancing the annual fair experience. His leadership culminated in his election as President in both 2005 and 2017. Under his guidance, the fair grew in popularity and significance, becoming a cherished tradition for families in the area. His enthusiasm for making the fair a success was evident in every detail, and his contributions helped to ensure that it remained a highlight of the community calendar.

In addition to his professional and civic commitments, Kevin was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he actively participated in various charitable activities. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rose Mary Kampwerth, and his in-laws, Harvey and Mabel Holland. He is survived by his treasured wife, LuAlice Kampwerth, his cherished daughter, Whitney Kampwerth Luebbers, and his “favorite son-in-law” and best friend, John Luebbers. Additionally, he is survived by his father, Roland Kampwerth, his sister Donna (Kenny) Henrichs, and his brothers Mark (Joyce) Kampwerth, Dale (Cindy) Kampwerth, Roland Kampwerth, Jr., Dean (Lisa) Kampwerth, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family. Kevin’s family was everything to him, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life.

In the wake of Kevin’s passing, friends, family, and colleagues are coming together to honor his memory and celebrate his remarkable life. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, located at 1171 Jefferson St. in Carlyle, with Fr. George Mauck and Fr. Jose Jacob officiating. Following the funeral Mass, a luncheon will be served at St. Mary’s Parish Center, providing an opportunity for loved ones to share memories and support one another during this difficult time. Visitation will take place at Zieren Funeral Home, located at 1111 Clinton St. in Carlyle, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 10, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
