Holden, Utah is grieving the loss of one of its own, Quinn Kesler, a beloved member of the rodeo community who tragically passed away on February 26, 2024. At just thirty years old, Quinn had already made a significant mark in the world of rodeo, qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) three times.
Born and raised in Holden, Utah, Quinn Kesler was a respected switchender, belonging to an elite group of rodeo athletes who had both headed and heeled at the prestigious NFR. His accomplishments in the arena were matched only by his love for his family, including his wife Jessie, their daughter Quincy, his mother Allyson Baker, father Greg, stepmother Kaylynn, brother Landon, and sisters Camille, Nicole, Lindsay, and Hailey, all of whom continue to mourn his passing.
Quinn’s rodeo journey was one of determination and success. In the 2016 season, he made history by becoming the first to qualify for the NFR and won Rounds 3 and 7 alongside two-time World Champion Matt Sherwood. In 2018, Quinn demonstrated his versatility by serving as Rhen Richard’s heel, achieving a commendable sixth place in the average.
Transitioning to the head side in 2019, Quinn continued to excel, eventually heading the NFR for Joseph Harrison in 2021. Throughout his career, he amassed numerous titles in the PRCA Wilderness Circuit, earning over $600,000 in prize money. His victories spanned prestigious competitions across the country, cementing his reputation as a formidable competitor.
In addition to his achievements in the arena, Quinn was known for his infectious spirit and camaraderie. He shared a deep bond with his longtime friend and partner, Colby Siddoway, and touched the lives of many with his humor and generosity.
As the rodeo community mourns the loss of Quinn Kesler, plans are underway to honor his memory. Donations are being accepted to support his family during this difficult time, in lieu of flowers. Quinn will be remembered not only for his prowess in the arena but also for the indelible impact he made on the lives of those around him.
