Because Josh was renowned for his generosity, friendliness, and dedication to his family and friends, his passing has left a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Throughout his entire life, he remained a lover of football at every level. In 1956, Corky tied the knot with Barbara Lamar, the woman he had loved his entire life. After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University in 1957, he went on to establish a company in Dallas with Humble Oil. After receiving a call to ministry in 1961, Corky relocated his young family to Emory University in Georgia.
There, he served a number of smaller churches while simultaneously earning his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology in 1964. After being appointed to the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Corky, Barbara, and their three daughters relocated back to Texas. He was honored with this appointment.
They are mourning the loss of Josh McGee, but at the same time, they are celebrating his life and the impact he had on those who were in his near proximity. Josh McGee was a member of the Flowery Branch neighborhood.
