According to a spokesperson, island police had detained two individuals Wednesday afternoon following reports of gunfire and an individual brandishing a firearm on the rooftop of a downtown building.
Galveston police responded promptly to the scene at Axecade, located at 2217 Strand, where witnesses had observed a person holding a firearm on the rooftop and heard gunshots.
While police had arrested two individuals and cordoned off the street by Wednesday afternoon, no injuries were reported, stated spokesperson Kurt Koopmann.
Despite an extensive search, police had yet to find concrete evidence of gunfire by approximately 4:30 p.m., and they continued to search for suspects.
