Don Mitchell Obituary, Death Cause – Condolences are sent to the Cabri, SK community on the passing of Donald Martin Mitchell. He was a much-loved member of the town and died away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Prairie Health Care Centre. A beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend, he was fondly remembered as “Donnie” and left behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and treasured memories.

The Mitchell family of Orkney, Saskatchewan welcomed their son Donnie into the world on June 20, 1946, in Climax. Donnie brought so much happiness and strength to his loved ones throughout his life. For those lucky enough to have known him, his death is a devastating blow.

Brady, Carson, T.J., and Carter Barraclough, as well as his children Mark (Shelly) and Heidi (Scott), and his dedicated wife Karin, are among his surviving relatives. Every time spent with Donnie’s family was treasured since they were his pride and delight. Everyone who knew him felt better after spending time with him because of his kind demeanor and infectious grin.

Shirley Paczkoski, Margret Carr, Byron, Miles, and David Howlett are some of Donnie’s sisters and brothers-in-law who have passed away with him and his immediate relatives. Several cherished relatives, including his parents and brothers Allan, Glen, Lorne, and Gordon, passed away before him.

There were numerous things that interested Donnie. In particular, he enjoyed fast driving and had a passion for farming, mechanics, and car restoration. His adventurous spirit and exceptional driving abilities are reflected in his wife’s affectionate recollection of him as the “Best Driver” she had the pleasure of knowing.

Even beyond his interests, Donnie had a natural talent for connecting with creatures large and little. He was loved by everybody he encountered because of his kind and caring personality, and he brightened up each party he attended. His heart belonged to his neighborhood, and he was quick to provide assistance to people in need.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, a funeral will be conducted at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home. The reception will be held in the Eagles Hall after the ceremony. On Sunday, January 28, 2024, Donnie will be put to rest in Orkney Cemetery, surrounded by his loved ones and the beautiful scenery he treasured.
