Chris Smelley, a former quarterback for both American Christian Academy and the University of South Carolina, has been missing for several hours. According to family members, he was last seen 1.5 miles off of Grayton Beach at roughly 9:30 AM while riding a blue and black kayak and dressed in a camouflage bikini.
Notification has been sent to the US Coast Guard located in Mobile. Florida Fish and Wildlife is traveling eastward toward Grayton after taking off from the inlet at Destin Pass.

Chris, who is 37 years old, is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is a devoted spouse, father of four children, brother, and friend. Everyone who has been informed of the news is in prayer, begging for safety when he returns home.
Since this is not typical of him, no one knows where he is at the moment, which has caused his loved ones great anxiety.
