ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A GoFundMe has been established for Lindsay Craig, one of the victims of the March 27 mass stabbing in Rockford that left four dead and numerous others, including Craig, injured.

Craig was the last person to be allegedly attacked by Christian Soto, 22. Soto reportedly broke into Craig’s home in the 4600 block of Florence Street armed with a knife.

Police said Craig was able to escape Soto’s initial attack before running to a yard in the 2100 block of Eggleston Road.

Soto and Craig were seen by a passing driver, later identified as Keith Fahrney, who engaged with Soto before police arrived and took the 22-year-old into custody.

Craig sustained “crippling and disfiguring knife wounds” as a result of the attack, according to the GoFundMe. She remains hospitalized in critical condition.

“We don’t know yet the amount time or money it will take her to heal, but the mental trauma will last for a lifetime,” wrote Craig’s cousins Adam and Samantha Toth, who organized the fundraiser.

“We are so, so grateful Lindsey is alive. Our hearts ache for those innocent victims that lost their lives that day. We are seeking financial support for our cousin to help with expenses to help her recover physically and mentally from this horrific crime against her. All donations will go directly to Lindsey through her mother, Cindy. Thank you for your assistance.”
