Police reported that on Easter morning, a trailer carrying Bibles was deliberately ignited in the center of a Mt. Juliet intersection.

Responding to a call, deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene near Old Lebanon Dirt Road and Chandler Road around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

Crews from the Mt. Juliet Fire Department swiftly contained and extinguished the fire engulfing the trailer.

Authorities stated that the trailer, which held Bibles, had been deposited in the intersection close to the Global Vision Bible Church and was deliberately set ablaze.

Sheriff Robert Bryan informed Channel3 NOW that he has no doubt the fire was intentionally set to burn the Bibles.

He mentioned that investigators are currently reviewing security footage. According to the sheriff, the vehicle involved appears to have an out-of-state license plate.

No further details were immediately disclosed.

Individuals with any additional information or relevant camera footage are encouraged to contact the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at 615-444-1459.
