Fr John Johnson Death Notice, Former Saint Marys, Wigan Parish Priest Has Died – Obituary
Fr John Johnson Death Notice, Obituary – We announce with great grief the demise of Father John Johnson, the beloved former Saint Marys Parish Priest.
Father Johnson left behind a legacy of strong faith and unselfish devotion when he quietly passed away last night; specifics are still pending. Father Johnson’s path to the priesthood was characterized by commitment and hard work.
He was originally from Scot Lane and followed a route that took him from a previous career as a butcher to the holy calling of the priesthood. After being ordained in 1967, he committed his life to serving God and His people, responding to the divine summons with humility and kindness.
Father Johnson served in a number of parishes over his distinguished career, including Saint Oswald’s in Ashton, before taking on the position of Parish Priest at St. William’s Church in Ince in the 1980s.
He has been a devoted shepherd of Saint Mary’s congregation for the past thirty-three years, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he came into contact with. His ministry included Sacred Heart in Springfield and St. John’s in Standishgate, where his kind leadership had a profound impact on many people’s lives.
Father Johnson has had an enormously positive influence on the Wigan Catholic community. To everyone he came in contact with, his deep wisdom, kind disposition, and unwavering determination won them over. We offer his family, friends, and former parishioners our sincere condolences and prayers during this difficult time of mourning.
“Well done, good and faithful servant,” the Bible says. Now enter into your Lord’s delight.” May Father Johnson’s soul rest in peace forever and may his legacy serve as a constant source of inspiration for us to live lives filled with compassion, faith, and selflessness.
Peace be with you, Father John Johnson. Though you will be terribly missed, everyone who was fortunate enough to have known you will always carry your spirit with them.
