Hannah Shaffer, a vibrant and promising 15-year-old from Carlisle, Iowa, tragically lost her life in a devastating car accident in Warren County on Sunday night, June 9, 2024. The fatal crash occurred when the Toyota Camry Solara, in which Hannah was a passenger, slid into a ditch on 200th Avenue near the intersection of Delaware Avenue and 200th Street.

The car was heading north on 200th Avenue when the accident happened, resulting in the tragic death of Hannah Shaffer. According to the Iowa State Patrol, two of the three occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Hannah was rushed to a hospital in Des Moines, where she was pronounced dead. The other two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
