18 people shot, 9 killed in overnight Chicago shootings including 15-year-old Terri Player and 10-year-old boy

The balmy temperatures contributed to a tumultuous night throughout the city.

The most recent shooting occurred at the intersection of Thorndale and Ravenswood, where a 10-year-old child was tragically killed, and a pregnant mother is in critical condition.

In the Roseland neighborhood, at approximately 12:32 a.m., a 15-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man were discovered with gunshot wounds in the 200-block of West 109th Place in West Roseland.

Father Michael Pfleger confirmed that 15-year-old Terri Player was a student at Saint Sabina and was in the car with her brother at the time of the incident.

According to Chicago police, from 6 p.m. Tuesday night until Wednesday morning, a total of 10 individuals were shot, with five fatalities.

Upon police arrival, they discovered both individuals sitting in a car with multiple gunshot wounds, leading to their pronouncement of death at the scene.

Another incident involving a shooting on a CTA bus resulted in the death of a man brandishing a knife in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, as reported by police.

According to a witness, a 53-year-old man was observed waving a knife at another individual, prompting the latter to draw a gun and shoot the man.

After the shooting, the assailant fled the scene on foot, and the 53-year-old man was declared dead at the location, according to police. No other passengers sustained injuries.

Shortly after midnight in South Austin, two 22-year-old women were shot in the 5000-block of West Gladys Avenue.

Authorities stated that a white car approached the two women who were standing on the sidewalk, and someone from the vehicle opened fire.

One woman sustained injuries to her neck and right shoulder, while the other was wounded in the back. Both victims were transported to hospitals and are listed in critical condition.

Police noted that no suspects have been apprehended in any of these shooting incidents, and investigations are ongoing.

Police reported a fatal shooting in the West Pullman neighborhood, where a 25-year-old man lost his life.

According to authorities, the victim was in the 600-block of West 117th Street around 12:19 a.m. when he informed the police that he had been shot by an unidentified suspect who subsequently fled on foot.

The victim was rushed to Advocate Christ Hospital but was later pronounced dead. Currently, no suspects are in custody.

Two men lost their lives in a shooting incident on Tuesday in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

The victims were traveling north in a blue sedan around 3:20 p.m. in the 6800 block of South State Street when an individual in a silver car opened fire, according to Chicago police.

One of the victims, aged 30, sustained gunshot wounds to his head and body, while the other, aged 22, was shot in the head and neck.

Both were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased, as per police reports.

No arrests have been made thus far.
