Danny Thornton Obituary, Death – On June 11, 2023, Danny Lewis Thornton, who was 72 years old at the time of his passing, passed away quiet and sweetly at the residence of his daughter, Shannon (David) Sharp. Martha (Strickland) and Lewis Thornton Jr. raised their son Danny in Blackshear, Georgia, where he was born.

He was a welder and fabricator for the majority of his career, and he lived his whole life in the Blackshear and Waycross area. He worked there for virtually his entire life. On November 2, 1997, he got a successful heart transplant, which made him one of the recipients of heart transplants in Georgia who has survived the longest. This event marked a significant turning point in his life.

Family and Personal Life

On March 11, 1987, Danny tied the knot with Deborah Moody, the woman he had loved his entire life. An interest in fishing and camping was something that they both had in common. As well as being known for his warm and welcoming personality, Danny was a skilled griller who was famous for his “Danny Burgers.”

In the wake of the death of his wife, Danny discovered that his cherished pet, Winchester, provided him with company. The fact that he was always prepared to assist individuals who were in need, regardless of the circumstances, earned him a reputation for being generous and emotionally empathetic.

Final Moments and Legacy

While Danny was in his final months, he was surrounded by his family, which included his cherished daughter Shannon, as well as BB, Jimbob, and Butterball. This provided him with an atmosphere of love and fun.

Known affectionately as “Pops” or “Poppy,” Danny left behind a legacy that is characterized by warmth, laughter, and an infinite love for others. It has been decided that there would be no public ceremony in accordance with Danny’s desires. In order to pay tribute to his memory, the family intends to arrange a private memorial service at a later time.
