Vada Opal Caven Saling Obituary, Death – Vada Opal Caven Saling, aged 88, of Louisville, formerly of Hart County, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her residence. Her life was marked by her unwavering faith, love for sports, and devotion to her family.

A Woman of Faith

Vada was a dedicated member of Aetna Grove Baptist Church, finding solace and community in her faith. Her spiritual journey was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through the joys and challenges she encountered.

Embracing Sports and Family

Known for her vibrant spirit, Vada had a passion for sports, particularly softball, volleyball, and bowling. Her love for these activities brought her joy and camaraderie, reflecting her zest for life. Beyond her athletic pursuits, Vada was a loving mother, mamaw, and great-mamaw, finding fulfillment in the bonds she shared with her family.

Fondly Remembered

Vada was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackie Saling, her parents, Elmer and Victoria Goff Caven, as well as two sisters, Evelyn Vaughn and Gladys Whitlow, and two brothers, Omer Caven and Deward Caven. Though they have left this world, their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

Cherished Family

Vada is survived by her daughter, Pattie Manning, and her son, Darwin (Lori) Saling, both of Louisville. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren: Sarah Graham, Adam Manning, Katie (Matt) Mudd, and Travis (Conner) Saling, as well as her five great-grandchildren: Robert Graham, Andrew Graham, Blake Mudd, Bella Mudd, and William Graham. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Vivian Berry.

Celebration of Life

Funeral services to honor Vada’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia, with Bro. Kelvin Edwards officiating. Following the service, Vada will be laid to rest in the Aetna Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and continue after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, providing an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and share fond memories of Vada.
