Frances Jones Allen, a resident of Tappahannock, Virginia, has sadly passed away at the age of 98. On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, an unfortunate event took place. In a heartbreaking turn of events, Frances McKendrie has been left without her parents, George Sidney and Annie Stevens McKendrie.
A devoted individual, she dedicated a significant amount of time to caring for her mother, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A woman with a deep appreciation for humor and a genuine delight in the company of young individuals.
A person with a keen passion for knitting and crocheting has been identified. With unwavering commitment, she has expertly crafted a multitude of Afghans for her cherished family members.
A beloved family member, known as Memaw, had a deep and unwavering love for her relatives. A woman has been connected to Ephesus Baptist Church.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Frances Trible and Debbie Rowland; stepson, Sidney Wayne Allen; stepdaughter, Cathy White; grandchildren, Chris Sylva, Angie Hodges, Kelly Ricks, Jamie Tignor, Michael Rowland and Tyler Rowland; great-grandchildren Owen and Ella Hodges, Will, Tanner and Chatham Ricks, Ian, Hailey and Easton Sylva and Mia and Cooper Tignor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tragedy has struck her life multiple times, as she has experienced the loss of her parents, husbands Franklin Jones and Sidney Allen, as well as her sisters and a brother.
A funeral service has been scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. The family has scheduled a visitation period from 2-3 p.m., which will be followed by a service at 3 p.m. The burial will take place at Essex Cemetery, led by Pastor Larry Schools.
